How Can My Faith Become Stronger
How can my faith become much stronger than it is at this time?
Faith is a gift from God. He gives to all of us the gift of faith.
Romans 12:3 "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."
The assuring messages of the Bible are sources of building up our faith. Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Faith grows as it is exercised and put to the test. Luke 17:5-6 NKJV "And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you." James 1:3 "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience."
Faith gets stronger when it is firmly centred on God rather than self. It relies on God's abilities, not ours. Hebrews 12:2
Faith gets stronger when we focus on who we put our trust in, rather than focus on the outcomes we desire. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
