How does biblical faith add to one’s quality of life in 2022?
The year 2022, and the 21st Century in general, are marked by an ever increasing level of complexity as we grapple with the rate of disruption, change, diversity, and unpredictability in the world. This often leads to anxieties and fear about the present and the future. The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated this sense of unease and frustration with many aspects of life in 2022.
Biblical faith provides the proper and reassuring perspectives to help us deal with our fears and uncertainties.
Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Faith helps us to navigate the complexity of the world. 1 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight."
Faith provides an anchor in times of uncertainty. James 1:6-8 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Faith helps us to look beyond the perplexities of this life to the promised blessings of the life to come. John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
